Job summary

Ogier Hong Kong's Corporate Team is seeking a capable paralegal to provide comprehensive support to fee earners in a fast-paced environment. You will help with due diligence, document drafting, client communications, and matter setup, while ensuring accurate record-keeping and filing.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is welcomed, with a focus on delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• Legal studies or qualification completed (LLB/GDL/LPC/PCLL or equivalent).
• Experience in offshore sector and/or assisting with US IPOs and other corporate transactions is highly regarded.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
• Able to work independently and proactively.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking work in support of a team of fee earners, meeting an agreed target chargeable hours.
• Due diligence work and searches at the request of fee-earner.
• Drafting, amending and translating legal documents at the request of fee-earners.
• Primary line of communication between fee-earners and clients.
• Ensuring that new client matters are accurately set up in the client accounting and database system.
• Maintaining and amending client records and contact names where appropriate.
• Ensuring files are kept up to date and archived when the matter is concluded.
• Delegating administration tasks per team workflow model.
• Providing complete assistance to fee-earners and clients regarding legal issues.
• Leading innovation with tools by supporting and trialling new initiatives.
• Primary contact for team-specific legal and business services queries.
• Screening incoming calls and arranging conference/outgoing calls for the team.
• Retrieving information necessary to support legal decision-making.
• Being a team player and assisting others within the team/f irm.
• Taking up urgent or ad-hoc tasks and deadlines as allocated.
• Other duties as the firm may reasonably require.
