Project Nature (T26)

• 1. To support the operations and assist in the enhancement projects of the Departmental Network and IT Infrastructure of EEB(EB) and EPD; and
• 2. To support the mobile device management of users in EEB(EB) and EPD.

Duties

• Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the EPD;
• 1. To monitor systems, servers and networking performance for ensuring the Departmental network is running in stable and secure status;
• 2. To configure and manage network routers, switches and other networking and peripheral equipment;
• 3. To carry out day-to-day administration jobs on networking equipment; and to conduct trouble-shooting on faulty or abnormal systems and devices;
• 4. To assist in designing new networking systems by studying the feasibility of different approaches, conducting proof-of-concept (POC) analyses and following up the procurement exercises for upgrading the Departmental network and IT infrastructure to accommodate new initiatives and requirements;
• 5. To manage the mobile device management solution for managing the mobile devices for users including daily administration and assisting system upgrade through POC analyses;
• 6. To follow up with vendors on maintenance of networking equipment including repairing faulty equipment, updating necessary security patches and upgrading operation system of equipment, etc.;
• 7. To implement new projects and other ad hoc requirements in the Departmental network and IT infrastructure;
• 8. To update documentation including operations manuals and procedures, networking diagrams, workflow drawings and technical specifications, etc.;
• 9. To handle the escalated requests from frontend helpdesks or users on networking matters;
• 10. To support system operation, IT security, patch management and auditing response for routine operations and ad hoc requests;
• 11. To recommend and procure networking equipment for the Departmental network and IT infrastructure;
• 12. To handle network security events through provision of IT support in the Departmental network and IT infrastructure;
• 13. To maintain inventory record of equipment in the Departmental network and IT infrastructure;
• 14. To carry out any other duties as directed.

Requirements

• 1. Higher Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or Higher;
• 2. Obtained at least one of the following certificates related to IT network: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA); and
• 3. Recent IT working experience in Government.

Technical Skills

• . At least 5 years' experience in Network & System Management (NSM);
• . At least 5 years' experience in Router Configuration (ROU);
• . At least 5 years' experience in Virtual Private Network (VPN);
• . 5 years' experience in Proxy Server (PRS) is an advantage;
• . 5 years' experience in System Backup Operation (BKO) is an advantage;
• . 5 years' experience in CISCO IOS Software & CISCO Products (CIP) is an advantage.

Non-technical Skills

• . At least 10 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
• . 5 years' experience in customer service (CLS) is an advantage.
• - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
• - At least 10 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 5 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
