Job summary

AJ FOX COMPLIANCE in Hong Kong is seeking a Compliance Officer to support the Business Acceptance team across conflicts, client and matter openings, due diligence, sanctions screening and information barriers, helping the firm manage risk and deliver a high-quality service to its clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a law firm.
• Solid understanding of AML and conflicts requirements.
• Strong research, communication and prioritisation skills.
• Experience with Intapp Open and Walls.
• Able to work effectively in a global team.

Responsibilities

• Processing conflict search requests promptly and in a coordinated manner.
• Analysing conflict search results, identifying potential conflicts of interest and supporting their resolution.
• Managing requests for new client and new matter openings.
• Researching new clients, advising on appropriate customer due diligence and assisting fee earners in obtaining the required information and documentation.
• Supporting the ongoing monitoring of existing clients.
• Implementing and maintaining information barriers.
• Conducting sanctions screening.
• Providing information and responding to queries on business acceptance, compliance and risk-related matters.
• Working closely with other business support functions, including IT and Accounts.
• Using recognised research providers, such as Orbis, Accuity and equivalent platforms.
• Managing competing priorities and multiple deadlines while maintaining a timely and efficient service.
