Conyers Dill & Pearman is seeking a dedicated compliance professional to join the Asia compliance team in Hong Kong. You will review client files for KYC, AML, and related regulatory requirements, document risk assessments, and coordinate remediation efforts with internal teams.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of AML/KYC experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work under deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years' compliance, AML/KYC or related regulatory experience.
  • Experience with AML, ATF, CPF and CDD procedures.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication; Cantonese/ Mandarin advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated compliance support under the direction of the Senior Manager, Asia.
  • Review client files for remediation against KYC, CDD, AML, ATF and CPF requirements.
  • Identify missing or outdated client information and remediate accordingly.
  • Document trigger events and client risk assessments; reflect changes in risk profiles.
  • Review screening results for sanctions/PEPs; conduct additional research as required.
  • Elevate higher-risk matters and coordinate with internal teams to obtain missing information.
  • Maintain complete remediation records and update client files and systems.

The Firm advises on Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, and Cayman Islands laws, from offices in those jurisdictions and in the key financial centres of Hong Kong, London and Singapore.

What Will You Do

Provide dedicated compliance support working under the direction of the Senior Manager, Asia.

Review existing client files as part of the remediation programme to assess compliance with applicable Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) and Counter-Proliferation Financing (CPF) requirements.

Identify missing, outdated or insufficient client information and documentation and take the necessary steps to remediate identified deficiencies in accordance with established policies, procedures and project requirements.

Conduct and document trigger events and client risk assessments, ensuring that relevant risk factors and any changes to a client's circumstances are appropriately reflected in the client risk profile.

Review and analyse customer screening results, including alerts relating to Economic and Trade Sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and Special Interest Persons, undertaking additional research and documenting findings as required.

Identify and elevate higher-risk matters, unusual circumstances or potential AML/ATF/CPF concerns, as appropriate.

Liaise with relevant internal teams to obtain outstanding information and documentation required to complete remediation reviews.

Maintain accurate and complete records of remediation work undertaken and ensure client files and relevant systems are updated appropriately.

What You’ll Need

1–3 years' compliance, AML/KYC or related regulatory experience, preferably gained within a regulated environment; experience within a legal, financial services or professional services firm would be advantageous.

Working knowledge of AML, ATF, CPF and CDD procedures across a variety of entity types, including private companies, quoted companies, partnerships and trusts.

Strong analytical skills with proven attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, well-reasoned investigation documentation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality in handling customer information; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is advantageous.

Reliable, self-motivated and proactive, with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience using screening, due diligence and research databases would be advantageous.
