Job summary
Amplify Health is seeking a Cloud Database Engineer to join the Vitality Data Platform team in Hong Kong. You will drive modernization, optimize security, and support scalable cloud-based databases across Azure and NoSQL offerings.
Responsibilities include leading PostgreSQL upgrade initiatives, designing durable architectures, and mentoring contractors while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and performance.
Qualifications
- Graduate or Master’s degree in computer science or engineering.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and modern data platforms.
- Experience managing Azure SQL Database, Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server, and Cosmos DB.
- Experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of security, data integrity and privacy best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead Vitality platform modernization and PostgreSQL upgrade initiatives.
- Set and govern database design, deployment, and lifecycle standards.
- Tune performance with indexing, vacuuming, and partitioning techniques.
- Design highly available architectures for OLTP and OLAP workloads.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, DevOps, Security and Analytics teams.
- Mentor contractors and ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
