Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) seeks an experienced deal administrator to review documentation and execute deals in collaboration with external and internal counsel. You will manage end-to-end deal administration, oversee agency/trustee deal ownership, and deliver monthly MIS reports while upholding risk controls and service quality.

The role requires strong communication skills in Cantonese and English, with Mandarin preferred, and a solid banking background in capital markets.

Qualifications

• 5 years banking experience preferred (min 2 years in capital market products; bond or syndicated loan administration also considered).
• Operational risk and control monitoring knowledge preferred.
• Detail oriented with independent thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to liaise with clients to handle inquiries and resolve operational issues.
• Good communication in Cantonese and English; Mandarin preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct documentation review and deal execution with external and internal counsel in line with procedures and policies.
• Review new deal mechanics and feasibility; work with Operations to deliver and maintain deal records; manage end-to-end deal administration.
• Act as deal owner for a portfolio of agency/trustee deals; oversee Operations processing and ensure timely contractual duties.
• Serve as primary client contact and handle ad-hoc requests and inquiries.
• Liaise with various teams to obtain data and compile MIS reports for monthly management review.
• Assist on control and compliance matters such as reconciliation of escrow reports and internal control meetings.
• Review/update client service procedures to meet the bank’s standards on control, risk, efficiency and service quality.

Job description

• Conduct documentation review and deal execution in accordance with agreed procedures and polices together with external counsel and internal counsel.
• Review new deal mechanics and feasibility and work with Operations team in deliverables. Manage the end to end process for new and existing deals including new deal setup, ongoing deal administration, annual account review, and maintain deal records. Liaise with Operations team to ensure tasks are delivered properly.
• Act as deal owner for a portfolio of agency/trustee deals. Provide oversight on Operations processing and ensure all contractual duties are completed timely and accurately.
• Serve as a primary contact for clients and handle ad-hoc requests and enquiries.
• Liaise with different teams to obtain data and compile various MIS reports as required by management on monthly basis.
• Assist on control and compliance matters such as reconciliation of escrow reports and liaise with Operations team to arrange internal control meeting and review the Operations activities.
• Review / update client service procedures and ensure all processes are met with the bank's standards on control, risk management, operational efficiency and service quality continuously.
  

Job Requirements:

• 5 years banking experience is preferred (with a minimum of 2 years in capital market products, particularly bond or syndicated loan administration). Paralegal in capital markets will also be considered.
• Knowledge about operational risk and control monitoring is preferred.
• Detail oriented, independent thinking and demonstrate problem solving skill.
• Able to liaise with clients to handle enquires and resolve operational issues.
• Good communication skills, both Cantonese and English, and Mandarin is also preferred.
