Job summary

LUNHUA EDUCATION INVESTMENT (HONG KONG) LIMITED seeks a dedicated teacher to deliver Chinese language and Putonghua instruction across local and international curricula for primary and secondary students. You will focus on exam results, re-enrolment and student satisfaction while delivering engaging lessons.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, assessment, and parent communication. The role requires familiarity with HKDSE/IB/IGCSE Chinese and flexibility to teach Wed–Sun with some evenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Chinese Literature, Linguistics or Chinese Language Education.
• 1+ year of Chinese or Putonghua teaching / tutoring experience.
• Familiar with HKDSE Chinese requirements; IB/IGCSE Chinese teaching a bonus.
• Able to write Traditional Chinese; comfortable with Simplified Chinese materials for mainland families.
• Fluent Cantonese for parent communication; PSC Level 2A or above preferred.
• Must hold valid working rights in Hong Kong.

Teach Chinese Language and Putonghua to primary and secondary students under local curricula (HKDSE Chinese, Primary 5-6 Internal Assessment) and international curricula (IB, IGCSE), delivering small-group and one-to-one lessons with a focus on exam results and re-enrolment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Chinese from primary to secondary level across local curricula (HKDSE Chinese, Primary 5-6 Internal Assessment) and international curricula (IB Chinese A/B, IGCSE Chinese)
• Deliver Chinese-as-a-second-language programmes for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students
• Prepare lesson plans, handouts, model essays and mock papers; mark compositions across genres (narrative, expository, argumentative, practical writing)
• Teach classical Chinese and reading comprehension techniques, including prescribed texts and answer frameworks
• Deliver Putonghua courses covering pinyin, tones, reading aloud and conversation (e.g. GAPSK, PSC preparation)
• Conduct trial classes, open classes and parent seminars to support student conversion
• Own re-enrolment rate, refund/dropout rate and student satisfaction; follow up on progress and maintain parent communication
• Contribute to curriculum and materials development; teach per the centre roster (Wed-Sun plus evenings)

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Chinese Literature, Linguistics or Chinese Language Education; teacher training preferred
• 1+ year of Chinese or Putonghua teaching / tutoring experience; tuition-centre or international-curriculum experience preferred
• Familiar with HKDSE Chinese requirements (Reading, Writing, SBA); ability to teach IB / IGCSE Chinese an advantage
• Able to write Traditional Chinese and familiar with Hong Kong character conventions, while comfortable with Simplified Chinese materials for mainland-background families
• Standard Putonghua; PSC Level 2A or above preferred. Fluent Cantonese required for parent communication
• Must hold valid working rights in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Permanent Resident, IANG visa, or other valid work visa)
