Job summary

Michael Page International (HK) Ltd. is recruiting a China A-share Portfolio Manager to manage a discretionary mandate for a large overseas sovereign institutional client in Hong Kong.

You will oversee a China A-share equity portfolio and execute strategies focused on mainland equities, aiming to generate alpha through bottom-up stock selection and rigorous research. The role requires about 5+ years in portfolio management with China A-share investments, strong modelling and risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years of portfolio management experience, with direct responsibility for China A-share investments.
• Proven track record managing a discretionary equity portfolio, ideally with AUM ranging from RMB 20-100 million.
• Experience from a leading Chinese mutual fund, asset management company, securities firm, or institutional investment platform.
• Strong investment framework with demonstrated ability to generate consistent risk-adjusted returns.
• Solid fundamental research and financial modelling capabilities.
• Good understanding of portfolio construction, risk management, and performance attribution.
• Fluent Mandarin and professional English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a China A-share equity portfolio with assets of RMB 30 million on behalf of an external institutional client.
• Develop and implement investment strategies focused on mainland China equities.
• Generate alpha through bottom-up stock selection, fundamental research, and active portfolio construction.
• Conduct in-depth company analysis, financial modelling, valuation, and earnings forecasting.
• Monitor portfolio risk exposures and ensure compliance with investment guidelines and mandates.
• Present investment recommendations, performance attribution, and market outlook to internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Work closely with analysts and other investment professionals to identify investment opportunities.
• Maintain a strong understanding of macroeconomic developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes impacting the China market.
