Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Chief Investment Officer for a leading insurance-backed asset management platform in Hong Kong. The role leads investment strategy, governance, and multi-asset portfolio construction across institutional and insurance mandates.

The successful candidate will chair committees, mentor a ~50-strong team, and collaborate with risk, compliance, and operations to drive growth and innovation; senior stakeholder engagement and regulatory understanding required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline.
• MBA, Master’s, PhD preferred.
• CFA, CAIA, FRM or other qualifications highly desirable.
• Minimum 15+ years of investment management experience with significant leadership experience within asset management, insurance asset management, or institutional platforms.
• Proven track record leading multi-asset platforms across Fixed Income, Equities and Asset Allocation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall investment strategy, portfolio construction, and governance framework across all asset classes.
• Provide leadership to investment teams covering Fixed Income, Equities, Multi-Asset, ETF, and Trading.
• Drive investment performance while aligning with long-term objectives, risk appetite, and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Chair investment committees and provide recommendations to senior management, boards and stakeholders.
• Enhance investment processes, research capabilities, and portfolio management frameworks across the platform.
• Oversee asset allocation, risk management and portfolio construction decisions across institutional and insurance mandates.
• Collaborate with distribution, product, risk, compliance and operations to support growth and innovation.
• Represent the firm externally with clients, regulators and industry partners.
• Identify opportunities, market trends, and strategic initiatives to strengthen competitive positioning.
• Build and develop a high-performing investment organization with a collaborative culture.
