Job summary

BaxterStorey at Louisa Leisure Centre is seeking a Chef Manager to lead a team of six in delivering high-quality food and beverage in a busy leisure environment. You will manage breakfast and lunch service, coffee and baked goods, oversee menu planning, training, stock control and safety, while maintaining strong customer relations and cost-conscious operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef Manager within contract catering.
• Managed large volume business sites.
• Excellent creative culinary skills.
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills.
• Proficiency in food cost management.
• Knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations.
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning and execution – create and plan menus in accordance with location style and customer preferences.
• Employee management – recruit, train, and supervise all colleagues including chefs and front of house.
• Inventory and cost control – monitor stock levels and manage ordering.
• Customer relations – interact with customers to understand catering needs and preferences.
• Health and safety compliance – ensure adherence to regulations and food safety policies.
• Budget and financial management – develop and manage kitchen budgets and cost savings.
• Menu development and innovation – stay updated on culinary trends.
• Compliance and documentation – maintain records of inventory and processes.
