Job summary

Arup in Hong Kong is seeking a Civil Engineer to deliver design and technical analysis for infrastructure projects, including highways and bridges, and to coordinate across transportation, structures, geotechnical, water, utilities, environmental and BIM teams.

You will contribute to project delivery, client engagement and drive technical excellence, aligning with East Asia infrastructure initiatives and Arup’s collaborative approach.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Corporate HKIE (Civil) membership or equivalent.
  • Fresh chartered for Engineer; 5+ years post chartered for Senior Engineer.
  • Experience in management and civil infrastructure design with local procedures.
  • Proficient in highways, bridges, utilities or drainage design; BIM familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide civil/structural design and technical analysis.
  • Deliver project execution support and design coordination.
  • Collaborate with transportation, structures, geotechnical, water, utilities, environmental and BIM teams.
  • Assist in client engagement and project delivery across East Asia.

Job description

The Hong Kong Infrastructure Group is strengthening its civil engineering capability to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects across Hong Kong and the wider East Asia. The team is involved in a diverse portfolio of civil and highways infrastructure projects.

The role provides hands‑on expertise in:

  • Civil and/or structural engineering design, including highways, bridges, and site developments.
  • Design coordination and multidisciplinary integration across infrastructure projects

The ideal candidate will operate as a Civil Engineer, providing engineering design, technical analysis and project delivery support while working closely with transportation, structures, geotechnical, water, utilities, environmental, sustainability and BIM teams to deliver integrated solutions. The candidate will also contribute to project coordination, client engagement, technical excellence initiatives and the successful delivery of strategic infrastructure projects across the East Asia business.

Is this role right for you?

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Corporate member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Civil Discipline) or relevant professional institution(s)
  • Fresh chartered for the position of Engineer and and more than 5 years post chartered experience for the position of Senior Engineer
  • Good experience and skills in project management and civil engineering designs of infrastructure projects and familiar with local procedures of HKSAR Government in the implementation of infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in the design of one or all of the following civil engineering design aspects including highways, bridges, utilities, drainage & sewerage, watermains, site formation and civil structures
  • Be dynamic, proactive and able to work independently
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or MicroStation and BIM applications will be an advantage
