About the role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to build and grow relationships with financial institutions across banking, brokerage, asset management and the Web3 ecosystem. You will source, structure and close partnerships where these institutions distribute our wealth solutions to their own clients, access them for their own balance sheet, or plug into our infrastructure — and you will act as the main commercial contact from first conversation through onboarding and ongoing growth.
Our wealth product suite spans equity solutions (listed and pre-IPO), private credit and structured products, real assets and commodities, cash and liquidity solutions, and discretionary and managed mandates — offered in both traditional and tokenized form.
Target segments
- Banks : commercial, private and digital banks, and banking-as-a-service use cases — as distribution channels for wealth products to their client base, and as counterparties for liquidity and settlement
- Brokerages and securities firms : retail and institutional brokers and wealth platforms — placing equity, credit and structured solutions with their end clients
- Asset and wealth managers : funds, family offices, external asset managers, fund administrators and custodians — as both consumers of our product shelf and partners in sourcing and structuring
- Web3 ecosystem : crypto exchanges, wallet providers, custodians, OTC desks, stablecoin issuers and digital asset managers — for tokenized product distribution, on-chain yield and liquidity solutions
What you will do
- Develop and execute a go-to-market plan for financial institution segments across Asia, identifying priority targets and mapping which wealth product categories fit each segment's client base and risk appetite
- Build a pipeline through outbound outreach, industry events, referrals and the existing partner network, and manage deals from first contact to signing
- Engage senior stakeholders (C-suite, heads of treasury, wealth and investment product, operations, product and compliance) and lead commercial negotiations
- Design tailored solutions with Product, Legal and Operations — spanning equity and pre-IPO access, private credit and structured products, real assets and commodities, and cash and liquidity solutions — together with the payments, settlement, fund flow, custody and account structures that support them
- Negotiate and put in place distribution and placement arrangements, including commercial terms, revenue sharing, product eligibility and the client segments each product may be offered to
- Work with Compliance on institutional onboarding, including KYC/KYB, AML/CFT review and licensing checks, as well as investor eligibility and suitability requirements for product distribution in each jurisdiction — especially important for crypto and Web3 counterparties
- Own the partnership after signing: track volumes, assets placed and revenue across product categories, solve integration issues and identify expansion opportunities
- Feed partner and end-client demand back into the product shelf, working with Product and the credit, equity and investment solutions desks to shape what we build and list next
- Share market and competitor insights, regulatory developments and client feedback with Product and leadership
- Represent the company at industry conferences and build a visible presence in the financial institution and Web3 communities
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of experience in business development, institutional sales or relationship management with financial institutions, such as banks, brokers, asset managers, fintechs or crypto firms
- A strong network among financial institutions in Asia, with Web3 relationships a plus
- Working knowledge of wealth and investment product categories — equity, credit and structured products, real assets, and cash and liquidity solutions — and how they are distributed through institutional channels
- Solid understanding of financial services, regulation and licensing (e.g. MAS, SFC and VASP regimes), including professional / accredited investor regimes and product distribution rules
- Track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with long sales cycles
- Comfortable discussing product and technical topics such as APIs, settlement flows and custody with both business and technical counterparts
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree or above; fluency in English, and Mandarin is a plus
Nice to have
- Experience at a crypto exchange, wallet or custodian, or in digital asset institutional sales
- Background in investment banking, transaction banking, prime brokerage or fund services
- Experience in wealth product distribution, private banking, external asset manager coverage or a wealth platform
- Understanding of AML/CFT requirements, the Travel Rule and sanctions screening
- Experience working with regulators or on licensing applications
Success in the first 12 months looks like
- A prioritized target list and pipeline across banks, brokers, asset managers and Web3 players in Asia, mapped to the product categories each segment is most likely to take
- Signed partnerships in at least two segments, with live distribution or placement across more than one product category
- Smooth institutional onboarding processes agreed with Compliance, covering both counterparty onboarding and product eligibility
