Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Draft, format, and proof bilingual (English/Chinese) pitches, marketing collateral and client presentations.
  • Maintain and update the firm’s central deal database and pitch tracker for proposals.
  • Coordinate printing and binding of client-facing materials.
  • Submit legal directories and major industry awards; compile lawyers’ input.
  • Maintain awards & rankings tracker; keep marketing materials up to date.
  • Support BD Manager in planning and driving the legal directory process.
  • Assist with press releases, articles and thought leadership pieces.
  • Proofread articles to match the firm’s tone and brand guidelines.
  • Assist internal communications for team and campaigns.
  • Provide logistic support for events (webinars, seminars), manage RSVPs and venues.
  • Prepare attendee collateral and track attendance post-event.
  • Log events in systems for relationship mapping; assist with merchandise inventory.

Job description

We are seeking a Business Development Coordinator to join our growing Business Development team in Hong Kong. In this role, you will provide foundational support for our marketing and business development initiatives. This is an ideal entry-level position for a motivated professional to build a career in legal marketing, legal operations, or professional services business development within a dynamic law firm environment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assist in drafting, formatting, and meticulously proofreading bilingual (English and Chinese) pitches, practice group credential statements, marketing collateral, and client-facing presentation decks.
  • Proactively maintain and update the firm’s central deal database and pitch tracker to ensure accurate and readily accessible track records for future proposals.
  • Coordinate with printing and binding of client-facing materials when required.
  • Coordinate the submission of legal directories and major industry awards, including deal details and compiling lawyers’ input.
  • Maintain and continuously update the firm’s awards and rankings tracker to ensure marketing materials reflect the firm's latest achievements.
  • Support the BD Manager in all aspects of planning and driving forward the legal directory process.
3. Communications
  • Provide support on press releases, articles and thought leaderships.
  • Proofread articles and publications to ensure consistency with the firm’s tone of voice and brand guidelines.
  • Assist with the internal communication of the team and firm-wide campaigns.
4. Events & Client Engagement
  • Provide logistic support for firm-hosted events including webinars, seminars and practice group initiatives.
  • Manage the RSVP, coordinate venue setups, prepare attendee collateral (e.g., name tags, legal briefing packs), and accurately track attendance post-event.
  • Ensure event attendance and client interactions are promptly logged in the firm’s systems for future relationship mapping.
  • Assist in sourcing, stock taking of merchandise and vendor liaison to ensure accurate inventory management and smooth operational coordination.
5. Social Media
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the firm’s official website, including uploading new partner/lawyer profiles, posting press releases, and ensuring all practice group descriptions remain accurate and current.
  • Draft and format engaging, brand-aligned content for the firm’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn, firm website and Instagram.
  • Conduct market research on prospective clients, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  • Prepare briefing notes and company profiles for lawyers ahead of networking events or pitch meetings.
Skills and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in Marketing/Business Development. Prior experience in legal environment is a strong plus.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Very good attention to detail: Absolute precision in proofreading, formatting, and data entry is essential.
  • Proficient in using design and productivity tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft PowerPoint, or similar) to create engaging marketing and business development materials.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills suitable for interacting with firm partners and executives.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of departmental and firm information.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be quick to respond and turn tasks around in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function in fast paced hectic environment while still producing error-free work.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, email and writing) skills.
