Job summary

Binance is seeking a Backend Engineer intern to join the Pay & Card team. You will design, develop, and maintain backend services powering crypto and fiat payments for users and merchants worldwide.

You will work with experienced engineers to build scalable APIs, implement robust transaction workflows, and improve system reliability. This internship offers hands-on experience with high-throughput systems, distributed architectures, databases, and observability in a fast-moving fintech

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in CS/SE.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java/Go/C++/Python).
• Understanding RESTful APIs and databases.
• Excellent communication and fast-learning attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services for Binance Pay and Card.
• Build scalable APIs and microservices for payments and merchant services.
• Work on distributed systems with high-volume transactions.
• Improve performance with databases, caches, queues.
• Implement robust transaction workflows with retries and idempotency.
• Participate in debugging with logs and metrics.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in reviews.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to reliability, observability, security improvements.
