Job summary

Gate, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, seeks an experienced backend engineer to design and optimize deposit and withdrawal systems. You will collaborate with Wallet, risk control, compliance, and other teams to build robust, scalable multi-asset infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with system design capabilities.
• Experience developing deposit and withdrawal systems at a leading CEX is preferred.
• Familiarity with deposit, withdrawal, asset, and address management flows.
• Experience developing funds-related systems such as wallets, assets, payments, clearing, or settlement is preferred.
• Proficiency in Go or PHP.
• Solid understanding of databases, caching, message queues, and distributed systems.
• Experience with large-scale system refactoring, architecture upgrades, technical debt management, or complex business system development is preferred.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive cross-functional projects.
• Experience with Travel Rule, AI Coding, AI Agents, or workflow-based engineering practices is preferred.
• Experience building large-scale CEX deposit and withdrawal systems, wallet, asset, payment, clearing, or settlement systems is a plus.
• Experience with multi-asset, multi-chain, complex distributed, or high-availability systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously optimize backend systems for deposit and withdrawal products.
• Participate in the development of core business capabilities, including on-chain deposits, withdrawals, deposit codes, asset management, and address management.
• Work closely with Wallet, risk control, compliance, and other teams to build business orchestration and system capabilities between deposit/withdrawal products and underlying wallet infrastructure.
• Contribute to the refactoring of deposit and withdrawal management platforms, sub-platform development, and core system architecture optimization.
• Independently handle requirement analysis, system design, development, launch, and post-launch optimization.
• Build Travel Rule-related capabilities for deposit and withdrawal scenarios.
• Drive technical debt management and improve engineering efficiency.
• Apply AI engineering practices such as Vibe Coding, AI Coding, Agents, and Workflows in daily development.
• Focus on core deposit and withdrawal business-side systems, including on-chain deposits and withdrawals, deposit codes, asset and address management, Travel Rule, management platform refactoring, sub-platform development, and existing architecture optimization.
• Collaborate deeply with underlying teams such as Wallet, while primarily owning deposit and withdrawal business systems rather than low-level wallet infrastructure.
