Job summary

BOCI in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced fixed income trader to drive market-making and liquidity in the secondary bond market. You will provide quotes, trade FX and interest rate products, and work with sales to grow business.

The role requires 5–8 years in fixed income trading, strong analytical skills, and fluency in Chinese and English (Mandarin a plus), with regulatory and compliance responsibilities embedded in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in finance or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of fixed income trading experience.
• Familiar with market products and regulatory requirements.
• Hold or eligible for RA1 and RA4 licenses from SFC.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with good analytical ability.
• Chinese and English, including Mandarin.
• 2+ years of local or international work experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage market-making in the secondary bond market.
• Provide quotes and trading services for FX and IR products.
• Coordinate with the sales team to expand business.
• Prepare regular reports on trading activities and market performance.
• Manage the risks of the trading book and ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Other duties as directed by superiors.

Job description

• Responsible for the market-making in secondary bond market and cash bond quotations, providing market liquidity for customers;
• Provide foreign exchange and interest rate products quotations and trading services for clients;
• Communicate with the sales team on market conditions, cooperate with sales team to actively expand business;
• Actively participate in market trading activities to make profit; prepare reports on trading activities and market performance on regular basis;
• Manage the risks of the trading book, ensuring trading process complies with internal policies, trading limits, legal and compliance requirements;
• Such other duties as shall from time to time be directed by your superiors.

Skills & Experience

• Degree Holder or above in finance or related business discipline;
• 5-8 years+ of fixed income trading experience:
• Familiar with financial market products and understand the compliance requirements of regulatory authority:
• Hold or eligible to apply RA1 and RA4 licenses from the SFC;
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with good analytical capability:
• Strong analytical and computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office;
• Good spoken and written Chinese and English, including Mandarin;
• Candidates with over 2 years of full time working experience in Hong Kong or overseas is considered as an advantage.
