Job summary

Pathlight School in Singapore seeks an Autism Therapist to support students on the autism spectrum within the national curriculum framework while providing life skills training. You will develop behavioural plans, deliver ASD-focused programmes and assist staff with urgent behavioural support needs.

Qualifications

  • Min. Degree in Psychology or related fields.
  • Passion to help special needs students maximise their talents and potential.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to evolving situations and diverse viewpoints.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver individualised behavioural plans in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Plan and deliver programmes for students with ASD in Life Skills (self-regulation, work habits, social/thinking skills).
  • Manage and respond to an emergency support line for school staff requiring immediate support for behavioural issues.
  • Plan and train stakeholders on ASD related topics.
  • Participate in team assessments for school admissions.

Pathlight School is the first autism-focused school in Singapore to offer the national curriculum together with life skills. It caters to students on the autism spectrum with related conditions, aged 7 to 18 years, who are cognitively able to access national curriculum but require additional support such as smaller class sizes, special accommodations and teaching staff trained in autism.

The team at Autism Intervention, Training & Consultancy (AITC) provides training and consultancy services for professionals and caregivers, as well as direct intervention services for individuals on the autism spectrum.

As an Autism Therapist, your Impact and Contribution includes:

  • Develop and deliver individualised behavioural plans in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Plan and deliver programmes for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the area of Life Skills (e.g. self-regulation, work habits, social and thinking skills)
  • Manage and respond to an emergency support line for school staff requiring immediate support for behavioural support
  • Plan and train stakeholders on ASD related topics
  • Participate in team assessments for school admissions
