Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in Hong Kong is seeking an Associate for our Financial Services Industry Group to join a hands-on, senior-led transformation team. You will work directly with Directors, Senior Directors, and Managing Directors on strategy engagements, transactions, and enterprise-digital initiatives.

The successful candidate has 3–4 years in top-tier consulting or corporate development, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and the ability to present analyses clearly to senior executives.

Qualifications

• University degree in accounting/finance/economics/IT/management or related field.
• 4 years of experience in top-tier management consulting or relevant internal strategy/operations.
• Demonstrable track record in structured problem solving and financial analysis.
• Exceptional command of Excel and PowerPoint; data visualization experience a plus.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with senior executives.
• Experience in FS service offerings (growth, M&A, transformation, digital) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute rigorous analyses and build financial models to quantify baselines and opportunities.
• Own end-to-end deliverables and synthesize data into clear presentations.
• Support practical execution of strategic initiatives (target operating model, cost optimization, M&A).
• Lead client fact-finding, map current-state processes, and build client relationships.
• Support workstream delivery with Managers and drive project progress.
• Prepare market research and thought-leadership materials for proposals.
• Manage engagement expectations and foster accountability.
