ASIFMA is seeking an Associate for the Equities Division in Hong Kong to deliver research and analytical support to the Managing Director, Head of Equities and Post Trade. The successful candidate will join a team of 25 in Hong Kong.
You will organize and run Committee or Working Group meetings, draft consultation responses and white papers, and communicate with regulators and expert stakeholders. The role also entails conducting targeted research and completing ad-hoc tasks.
The Associate will provide research and analytical support related to the Equities Division's activities and priorities, reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Equities and Post Trade. The successful candidate will join a growing team of 25 in Hong Kong.
Key responsibilities
Assist the Managing Director with organizing and conducting Committee or Working Group meetings, including planning, preparing meeting materials, minuting and follow up.
Work with stakeholders at all levels to collect industry feedback to draft consultation responses, industry letters to regulators and exchanges, and white papers.
Communicate directly with member subject matter experts verbally or in writing to solicit their opinions or to share information about regulatory/market developments.
Perform research related to specific projects and to draft reports on the findings.
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed.
About you
Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for business and advocacy purposes.
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and work ethic.
Strong problem solving and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.
3-5 years of prior relevant work experience. Good knowledge of APAC Equity markets is necessary, along with the passion and interest to build strong substantive knowledge of financial markets.
Prior experience in equities trading, operations, or ECM would be a plus.
Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management skills.
Team player, responsive and detail oriented.
Holder of a bachelor's degree or above in finance, economics, or a related field.
