Job summary

ASIFMA, a regional trade association based in Hong Kong, seeks an Associate to provide research and analytical support to the Equities Division reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Equities and Post Trade. The role sits in a team of 25 in Hong Kong.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.
  • 3-5 years of prior relevant work experience is preferred. Good knowledge of APAC Equity markets is necessary, along with the passion and interest to build strong substantive knowledge of financial markets. Prior experience in equities trading, operations, or ECM would be a plus.
  • Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management skills. Good management of AI tools (e.g. Copilot) would be a plus.
  • Team player, responsiveand detail oriented.
  • Holder of a bachelor’s degree or above in finance, economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Managing Director with organizing and conducting Committee or Working Group meetings, including planning, preparing meeting materials, minuting and follow up.
  • Work with stakeholders at all levels to collect industry feedback to draft consultation responses, industry letters to regulators and exchanges, and white papers.
  • Communicate directly with member subject matter experts verbally or in writing to solicit their opinions or to share information about regulatory/market developments.
  • Perform research related to specific projects and to draft reports on the findings.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Role Description

The Equities Division represents and advances the Equities, Equity Capital Markets and Post Trade agendas of ASIFMA’s member financial institutions to regulators, policymakers, and other stakeholders in Asia.ASIFMA is seeking an Associate to provide research and analytical support related to the Equities Division’s activities and priorities, reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Equities and Post Trade. The successful candidate will join a growing team of 25 in Hong Kong.



The Analyst/Associate’s main responsibility will be to support the Managing Director and Head of Equities & Post Trade and help drive the initiatives raised by the Equities, Equity Capital Markets and Post Trade Committees and their Working Groups. The Associate may be assigned to perform work such as:

This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong. Candidates who possess a Hong Kong identification card will be considered, while ASIFMA can also sponsor work visa applications for suitable candidate. The position is open with immediate effect. ASIFMA offers an attractive remuneration and healthcare package commensurate with experience, including the possibility of an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
