  • Build an informed perspective on the 'so what' from the analysis, while escalating open questions and trade-offs to the project lead.
  • Present own work confidently to project leads, Strategy ED/MDs and relevant stakeholders, including answering questions related to own analysis.
  • Draft sections of senior management materials, ensuring outputs are fact-based, logically sequenced and easy to follow.

  • Support Group Strategy projects by conducting research, analysis and structured problem-solving on strategic, commercial and organisational topics
  • Own discrete work products and contribute to workstreams by translating data, research and stakeholder input into clear insights and practical recommendations
  • Prepare high-quality materials and analysis that help project leads and senior stakeholders make well-informed decisions
Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct focused research, benchmarking and business analysis to support Group and business strategy topics.
  • Develop clear, well-structured outputs such as analysis packs, Excel models, market scans, issue trees, competitor reviews and recommendation slides.
  • Own assigned work products end-to-end, including understanding the purpose of the work, managing quality, anticipating issues and incorporating feedback.
  • Build an informed perspective on the “so what” from the analysis, while escalating open questions and trade-offs to the project lead.
  • Participate actively in problem-solving discussions by asking relevant questions, testing assumptions and contributing evidence-based suggestions.
  • Break down moderately ambiguous questions into manageable analytical components, with guidance from the project lead where needed.
  • Support the development of options, implications and recommendations by combining analytical evidence with business judgement.
  • Begin to apply structured thinking, including clear categories, hypotheses and issue trees.
  • Convert analysis into clear, concise slides and word narrative with appropriate content, messaging and an emerging storyline.
  • Present own work confidently to project leads, Strategy ED/MDs and relevant stakeholders, including answering questions related to own analysis.
  • Draft sections of senior management materials, ensuring outputs are fact-based, logically sequenced and easy to follow.
  • Refine content based on feedback, with increasing attention to the overall storyline and key messages.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for own work, flagging risks, data gaps or dependencies in a timely manner.
  • Support the project lead in coordinating inputs, preparing meetings, tracking actions and maintaining delivery discipline.
  • Liaise directly with working-level stakeholders to gather information, test analysis and clarify requirements.
  • Contribute to workstream delivery by bringing own perspective, maintaining quality and staying aligned to the broader project objective.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for own work, flagging risks, data gaps or dependencies in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, analyse data and translate findings into clear business implications.
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines and delivering under pressure with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Advantageous (though not critical) to have consulting experience, knowledge of banking in Asia and Emerging Markets
  • English (both spoken and written)
