Qualifications

• 8+ years specializing in virtual assets (cryptocurrency, blockchain investments)
• Preferred: Former researcher at a globally top-ranked university focusing on virtual asset/Web3 topics
• Deep understanding of Hong Kong and global virtual asset regulations (e.g. SFC’s VASP Regime, FATF standards)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in Strategic Planning: design investment strategies, risk controls, and product structures for virtual assets including cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, DeFi, and NFTs
• Lead in-depth Investment & Research: analyze macroeconomics, on-chain data, fundamental projects, and technical signals; build and manage portfolios or segregated accounts
• Oversee Compliance & Risk Management: ensure activities comply with guidelines; establish risk systems for custody, valuation, liquidity; recruit and lead the research and trading team; coordinate with compliance and operations; represent the firm externally

Associate Director of Virtual Asset Research

Assist the Director of Virtual Asset Research in the following fields:

(1) Strategic Planning

• Assist in applying for upgraded licenses related to virtual asset management under the SFC
• Design investment strategies, risk control processes, and product structures for virtual assets including cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, DeFi, and NFTs

(2) Investment & Research

• Lead in-depth research on the virtual asset market, including macroeconomics, on-chain data, fundamental project analysis, and technical analysis
• Build and manage portfolios of virtual asset funds or segregated accounts to achieve risk-adjusted return targets

(3) Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure investment activities comply with SFC’s Virtual Asset Management Company Guidelines and other regulations
• Establish robust risk management systems tailored to virtual assets (e.g. custody, valuation, liquidity monitoring)
• Recruit and lead a research and trading team in virtual assets
• Work closely with compliance and operations departments
• Represent the company at industry events and maintain partnerships with exchanges, custodians, and project teams

Basic Requirements

• 8+ years specializing in virtual assets (cryptocurrency, blockchain investments, etc.)
• Preferred: Former researcher at a globally top-ranked university with focus on virtual asset/Web3 topics
• Deep understanding of Hong Kong and global virtual asset regulations (e.g. SFC’s VASP Regime, FATF standards)

Professional Skills

• Proficient in asset valuation models, on-chain analytics, derivative strategies, and hedging tools
• Familiar with major exchanges (e.g. Binance, OKX), custodial solutions (e.g. Fireblocks, Copper), and compliance tools
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, capable of effective communication with international teams and regulators
