Job summary

AISL Harrow Schools seeks an Associate Director of ICT, Teaching and Learning Solutions to lead design, build and integration of digital learning platforms across AISL Harrow Schools. You will work with education leaders and ICT teams to translate priorities into secure, scalable learning solutions.

The role focuses on custom systems, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities to personalise learning, monitor progress and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience in enterprise applications, digital transformation, EdTech, or ICT leadership roles.
• Proven experience delivering and developing large-scale education technology solutions.
• Strong technical expertise in application architecture, systems integration, cloud technologies, APIs, and software development.
• Experience incorporating AI-enabled capabilities, learning analytics, and adaptive learning solutions into existing platforms.
• Proven experience managing external vendors, system integrators, and long-term implementation projects.
• Strong programme management, stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in K-12, international school, higher education, or education technology environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of custom-built teaching and learning systems, including learner dashboards, assessment tools, curriculum platforms, intervention tracking tools and workflow automation.
• Integrate new solutions with existing school systems, including parent communication portal, MIS, LMS, identity management, data platforms and productivity tools.
• Apply modern development practices, cloud services, APIs, low-code/no-code platforms, automation and AI-enabled capabilities to deliver secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Develop solutions that support personalised and adaptive learning, enabling differentiated learning pathways, timely interventions, student progress monitoring and actionable insights for teachers.
• Work with data and education teams to design analytics models, dashboards and reporting tools that provide meaningful insight into student learning, wellbeing, engagement and progress.
• Evaluate, prototype and pilot emerging technologies, including generative AI, learning analytics, adaptive learning platforms and intelligent tutoring tools, ensuring alignment with safeguarding, privacy and academic standards.
• Ensure all solutions follow Group standards for security, data governance, interoperability, accessibility, usability and long-term sustainability.
• Provide guidance, documentation and training to schools to support effective adoption, change management and continuous improvement of teaching and learning solutions.
• Monitor solution usage, impact and effectiveness, using evidence and stakeholder feedback to refine products and improve outcomes over time.

Purpose of Job

• To support the Group Director of ICT in leading the design, build, integration and continuous improvement of teaching and learning solutions across AISL Harrow Schools.
• To work closely with education leaders, school teams and ICT colleagues to translate academic priorities into secure, scalable and user-centred digital solutions.
• To lead the development of custom-built systems and integrations that connect learning platforms, school information systems, data platforms and productivity tools.
• To promote the responsible use of emerging technologies, including AI, analytics and automation, to enhance teaching effectiveness, learner insight and operational efficiency.
• To support schools in delivering personalised and adaptive learning experiences that improve student engagement, progress and outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role of the Associate Director of ICT, Teaching and Learning Solutions is to promote, facilitate and support school and Group strategy through:

Delivery of Teaching and Learning Solutions

• Partner with Group Education to engage with academic leaders, teachers and school ICT teams to identify teaching and learning priorities and convert them into practical digital solution roadmaps.
• Lead the design, development and delivery of custom-built teaching and learning systems, including learner dashboards, assessment tools, curriculum platforms, intervention tracking tools and workflow automation.
• Integrate new solutions with existing school systems, including parent communication portal, MIS, LMS, identity management, data platforms, collaboration tools and other core academic applications.
• Apply modern development practices, cloud services, APIs, low-code/no-code platforms, automation and AI-enabled capabilities to deliver secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Develop solutions that support personalised and adaptive learning, enabling differentiated learning pathways, timely interventions, student progress monitoring and actionable insights for teachers.

• Establish solution design principles, technical standards and governance processes for custom learning systems, integrations, AI-enabled tools and data-driven education products.
• Collaborate with Education, ICT and school leadership teams to ensure solutions are pedagogically sound, technically robust and operationally sustainable.
• Support vendor selection, product evaluation, procurement input and implementation planning where third-party platforms are required to complement custom-built solutions.
• Promote responsible AI use in education by supporting clear guidance, risk assessment, human oversight, data protection and ethical use of student information.
• Build capability across schools by sharing best practice, developing implementation playbooks and supporting professional learning for technology-enhanced teaching and learning.
