Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking a senior QA professional to join the Risk Systems Assurance team within Operations Risk Platform & Analytics. The role focuses on leading large‑scale system testing for risk management platforms and new product launches, working closely with business, technology and external vendors.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in financial QA, strong analytical skills, and experience in equities/derivatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Computer Science or related subject.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in financial institutions with proven leadership of large QA teams or projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiar with project management tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
• Proficient with Excel and VBA programming.
• Team player and self‑starter; able to engage with peers and clients and own deliverables.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and adapt to ensure project success.
• Knowledge of equity or derivatives markets is a must.
• Experience of business analysis is a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end system testing and QA strategy for risk management systems with complex financial logics.
• Translate requirements and specifications into test cases; design testing strategy and schedule.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across delivery lifecycle.
• Establish testing standards and best practices across UAT, regression, UIT and go‑live readiness.
• Coordinate with business owners, technology teams and vendors to ensure timely delivery.

Job Summary

We are looking for a high calibre individual to join the Risk Systems Assurance team under Operations Risk Platform & Analytics of HKEX’s Operations Division, who will help us on strategically important initiatives relevant to the new products launch and platform upgrade. This role is suited for a senior QA professional with strong financial domain knowledge, proven leadership in large‑scale system testing, and the ability to work closely with business, technology, and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the business owners and users to understand, analyse and document requirements
• Review user requirements and functional specifications and translate them into test cases; Design testing strategy & approach, plan testing schedule, manage timeline and resource; Lead and govern end‑to‑end system testing and quality assurance strategy for risk management systems which involve complex financial logics and risk methodologies
• Identify and mitigate system risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the delivery lifecycle with clear documentation
• Contribute to timely delivery of the project in line with project scope and expectation
• Establish testing standards, methodologies, and best practices across UAT, regression, UIT and go‑live readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or above) preferably in Risk Management / Engineering / Computer Science or related subject
• At least 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in well‑established financial organizations with proven 3+ years leadership experience managing large‑scale QA teams or projects
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Familiar with various project management tools eg. Confluence, JIRA, etc..
• Proficient with Excel, VBA programming
• A team player and a self‑starter, who can proactively engage with peers and clients, take ownership to ensure timely completion of all deliverables
• Ability to work at a fast pace in a team and adapt style to ensure the project is successful
• Knowledge of equity or derivatives market is a must
• Experience of BA is a must
