Job summary

Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Manager in Hong Kong to lead regulatory risk initiatives, coordinate audits and regulator inquiries, and oversee governance across market, liquidity, operational, technology and climate risks.

The role requires strong collaboration with multiple divisions, robust understanding of banking regulations, and excellent English and Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Risk Management, Finance, Business or related disciplines
• Minimum 8 years of relevant risk management experience in banks
• Solid and hands-on experience in engaging with regulators
• Good understanding of risk management, banking practices and regulatory requirements. Knowledge in market, interest rate, liquidity, operational, technology and climate risks is an advantage
• Self-motivated, proactive, independent with problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong project management skills and attention to details
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contract for the division in relation to internal and external audits, compliance reviews and regulator inquiries and examinations, covering market, interest rate, liquidity, operational, technology and climate risks.
• Liaise with cross-functional divisions/departments to obtain supporting documentation and feedback in response to information requests.
• Review appropriateness of materials provided by various units and prepare response to information requests for review by the department heads and Head of Risks.
• Track the progress of internal and external audits and compliance review, as well as regulator examinations and inquiries, and follow-up promptly on outstanding items to ensure completion within the agreed timeline.
• Monitor the progress of committed remedial actions and enhancements to ensure their timely completion.
• Keep abreast of regulatory developments to support regulatory reviews and submissions.
• Undertake projects and initiatives assigned by the Head of Risks.
