Job summary

1201 UOB Hong Kong is seeking a seasoned AML/KYC professional to lead KYC review, documentation, and due diligence processes. You will work with Front Office, Compliance and regional teams to ensure AML/CFT compliance, manage risks, and support KYC project initiatives.

The role requires a university degree in accounting, business, or law, 5–8 years of AML/KYC experience, and fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua). HKMA/SFC knowledge is essential.

  • 5-8 years of AML/KYC experience.
  • ACAMS is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of HKMA and SFC AML/CFT requirements.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Putonghua).
  • Mature, hands-on and independent with ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • KYC Review & Documentation Review: onboarding and periodic KYC documentation with AML/CFT compliance.
  • Due Diligence & Risk Assessment: screening, adverse news, CRS/FATCA reviews with clear rationale.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory: coordinate with Front Office, Compliance and stakeholders in HK and SG.
  • Process Management & Improvement: monitor onboarding status and escalate issues; drive quality improvements.
  • Post-STR Support: information gathering, transaction checks and monitoring of red flags.
  • UAT & Projects Support: participate in UAT and KYC/AML improvement projects.

Job Description
KYC Review & Documentation Review
  • onboarding and periodic KYC documentation for completeness, accuracy and AML/CFT compliance.
  • Maintain high-quality case files in line with Group standards.
Due Diligence & Risk Assessment
  • Perform screening, SOW validation, adverse news, CRS and FATCA reviews, with clear rationale and conclusions.
  • Identify and follow up on red flags, trigger events, ML/TF, sanctions and tax compliance risks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
  • Work closely with Front Office, Compliance and other stakeholders across Hong Kong and Singapore to support compliant onboarding and ongoing reviews.
  • Provide AML/KYC advisory support and escalat material issues in accordance with established protocols.
Process Management & Improvement
  • Monitor onboarding and OGR status and escalation issues for timely resolution.
  • Identify gaps and support enhancements to improve quality and efficiency.
Post-STR Support
  • Support post-STR reviews, including information gathering, transaction checks and monitoring of recurring red flags.
  • Maintain and track post-STR cases and documentation, with timely escalation of new concerns.
UAT & Projects Support
  • UAT and system enhancements, including testing and issue identification.
  • Participate in KYC/AML improvement initiatives and projects.
Job Requirements
  • University degree, preferably in Accounting, Business or Law.
  • 5-8 years' relevant AML/KYC experience; ACAMS is an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of HKMA and SFC AML/CFT requirements.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua.
  • Mature, hands-on and independent, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A team player, confident in engaging with cross-functional stakeholders and senior management.
  • Candidates with relevant experience may be considered for an AVP position, while those with more extensive experience may be considered for a VP position.
