United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Private Banking with a focus on AML/KYC. The role involves reviewing onboarding and periodic KYC documentation for AML/CFT compliance and maintaining high-quality case files in line with Group standards.

You will work closely with Front Office, Compliance and other stakeholders across Hong Kong and Singapore to support compliant onboarding and ongoing reviews, while providing AML/KYC advisory support and

Qualifications

University degree, preferably in Accounting, Business or Law.
5–8 years’ relevant AML/KYC experience; ACAMS is an advantage.
Sound knowledge of HKMA and SFC AML/CFT requirements.
Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua.
Mature, hands‑on and independent, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Candidates with relevant experience may be considered for an AVP position, while those with more extensive experience may be considered for a VP position.

Responsibilities

Review onboarding and periodic KYC documentation for completeness, accuracy and AML/CFT compliance.
Maintain high-quality case files in line with Group standards.
Perform screening, SOW validation, adverse news, CRS and FATCA reviews, with clear rationale and conclusions.
Identify and follow up on red flags, trigger events, ML/TF, sanctions and tax compliance risks.
Work closely with Front Office, Compliance and other stakeholders across Hong Kong and Singapore to support compliant onboarding and ongoing reviews.
Provide AML/KYC advisory support and elevate material issues in accordance with established protocols.
Monitor onboarding and OGR status and elevate issues for timely resolution.
Identify gaps and support enhancements to improve quality and efficiency.
Support post-STR reviews, including information gathering, transaction checks and monitoring of recurring red flags.
Maintain and track post-STR cases and documentation, with timely elevation of new concerns.
Support UAT and system enhancements, including testing and issue identification.
Participate in KYC/AML improvement initiatives and projects.
