Arup is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to join our Site Supervision Team in Hong Kong. You will perform TCP T3 duties under RSE/RGE streams, support Resident Engineer, and ensure compliance with plans, safety and standards on building projects.

The role requires civil/structural/geotechnical engineering background, hands-on site supervision experience, and fluent English and Chinese. The contract is 24 months with extension possibilities and a competitive remuneration package.

Qualifications

• Degree or a higher certificate/diploma in civil/structural/geotechnical engineering with relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years (degree) or 5 years (certificate) of relevant site supervision experience.
• Experience supervising foundation works, excavation and lateral support.
• Strong teamwork and communication in English and Chinese.

Responsabilités

• Undertake duties as TCP T3 under the RSE and/or RGE stream in accordance with Buildings Department requirements and the Supervision Plan.
• Assist the Resident Engineer in the administration and supervision of construction works.
• Carry out site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, statutory requirements and contract specifications.
• Review contractors' temporary works proposals, method statements, risk assessments and construction sequences.
• Monitor the implementation of approved temporary works, precautionary measures and site safety requirements.
• Coordinate and liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, design teams and relevant authorities on technical and construction matters.
• Monitor and report on the performance of the contractor's TCP and site supervision arrangements.
• Attend site progress meetings, coordination meetings and QA/QC meetings, and provide technical input where required.
• Maintain site records and assist in the preparation of inspection reports, progress reports and other project documentation.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Resident Engineer, RSE, RGE, or Client Representative.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to join our Site Supervision Team and undertake duties as a Technical Competent Persons (TCP) T3 under the RSE and/or RGE stream on building projects in Hong Kong.
The contract duration will be 24 months subject to extension to suit the construction programme. Standard working hours will be 6 days per week. Attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidates.

Is this role right for you?

• Degree in civil/structural/geotechnical engineering in a recognized university with minimum 2 years relevant working experience, or higher certificate or higher diploma in civil/structural/geotechnical engineering with minimum 5 years relevant working experience.
• Experience in supervising foundation work, excavation and lateral support work and superstructure is preferrable.
• Work co-operatively with good interpersonal skills.
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
