  • Manage seasonal buying activities, product assortment planning and precise sizing to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Review Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans to ensure the product and collection mix aligns with targets.
  • Support buying strategies to achieve sales and sell-through targets.
  • Monitor sales performance, stock levels, inventory turnover and sell-through rates.
  • Analyze sales, customer demand and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Provide seasonal product training and coordinate with cross-functional teams to support launches and campaigns.

Job description

The (Assistant) Merchandising Manager is responsible for supporting and executing merchandising strategies across APAC markets, including Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Reporting directly to the Senior Merchandising Manager, this role oversees daily merchandising operations, closely monitors sell-through performance, drives inventory optimization initiatives, manages seasonal buying activities, and maintains strong communication between markets and headquarters to ensure successful execution of business objectives and brand strategies.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Buying & Assortment Management
  • Manage seasonal buying activities, product assortment planning and precise sizing to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Review Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans to ensure the product and collection mix, align with sales targets and business objectives.
  • Support the Senior Merchandising Manager in developing and executing effective buying strategies to achieve sales and sell-through targets.
Merchandise Planning & Inventory Management
  • Monitor sales performance, stock levels, inventory turnover, and sell-through rates.
  • Manage stock allocation, replenishment, and consolidation to optimize inventory productivity.
  • Monitor product life cycles and recommend markdown, carry over order, or exit strategies to maximize profitability.
Sales & Business Analysis
  • Analyze sales performance, customer demand, and market trends to identify opportunities and potential risks.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and seasonal business reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Provide seasonal product training to retail teams to strengthen product knowledge and enhance brand credibility.
  • Work closely with Retail Operations, Marketing, Visual Merchandising (VM), Supply Chain, and Finance teams to support business objectives.
  • Support product launches, promotional activities, and seasonal campaigns to drive sales performance and brand awareness.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 6-8 years’ of relevant experience from retail merchandising
  • Experience with shoes for multiple markets preferred
  • Passionate with fashion, sensitive to trends and capability to depict essence for future merchandise development
  • Excellent communications with all levels
  • Great with numbers and analyses, good business acumen, a go-getter
  • Agile and efficient
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with good Excel skills
  • Fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin
