Li & Fung is seeking an Assistant Manager - Quality Assurance (Food) to drive quality and food safety across product development and production. You will work with customers, merchandisers, suppliers and factories to ensure products meet quality, safety and regulatory standards across markets.

The role includes audits, supplier quality assessments and CAPA, ensuring compliance with GFSI, HACCP and GMP. Requires English and Mandarin, a BSc in Food Science, 2+ years QA experience, and willingness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in food QA.
• Solid knowledge of GFSI, HACCP, and GMP; familiarity with U.S./EU regulatory requirements.

The Assistant Manager - Quality Assurance (Food) is responsible for driving quality and food safety compliance across the product development and production process. The role works closely with customers, merchandisers, suppliers, and factories to ensure food products meet stringent quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements across different markets. The incumbent will also oversee supplier quality management, food safety audits, product compliance, and the resolution of quality issues.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager - Quality Assurance to join us!

Here is what you need to know about this role:

• Deliver expert technical and quality support and advice to merchandisers, customers, and suppliers/factories to ensure food products meet required quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
• Execute quality assurance protocols throughout product development and production, including product specifications, testing, inspection, and quality documentation.
• Ensure products strictly comply with relevant food safety and regulatory requirements across different markets, particularly the U.S. and Europe.
• Conduct and oversee food safety and factory audits, supplier quality assessments, and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Provide technical advice and address potential quality, food safety, and compliance issues with suppliers/factories at the pre-production and production stages.
• Work with merchandisers, customers, and suppliers to develop clear quality expectations and ensure technical specifications are comprehensive and adequate.
• Drive the review of product specifications, labelling, testing, and documentation requirements to ensure compliance with applicable market requirements.
• Investigate product quality issues and work with suppliers/factories to identify root causes and implement timely corrective actions.
• Keep abreast of relevant food safety standards and regulatory requirements in key international markets.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

You might be a good fit if you have/are ...

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in food QA.
• Relevant experience in Food Quality Management, Food Safety, or QA/QC is required.
• Good understanding of food safety principles and quality management practices, such as GFSI, HACCP, and GMP.
• Knowledge of food regulatory requirements across different markets, particularly the U.S. and Europe, is strongly preferred.
• Experience with pet food and snacks products, or with exposure to food manufacturing, supplier quality, or food safety audits is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with good attention to detail.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
• Willing to travel.
