Job summary

Unnamed Life Insurer in Hong Kong is seeking a Manager/Assistant Manager in Life Underwriting. This hands-on role carries real case ownership and authority, with you leading the team to maintain SLAs and delivering underwriting excellence for challenging cases.

You will personally underwrite complex proposals, monitor performance, coach junior underwriters, and drive underwriting projects. Strong communication with sales channels is essential and a degree is required.

Qualifications

• Solid life insurance underwriting background with 8+ years’ experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with sales channels.

I’m working with a well-established life insurer in Hong Kong to fill a Manager/ Assistant Manager, Life Underwriting role.

This is still a hands-on underwriting seat with real case ownership and authority. You’ll run the team, keep SLAs tight, and personally underwrite the complicated stuff that sales channels care about.

• Review cases from junior underwriters and coach them properly.
• Drive or support underwriting projects and initiatives.

What they are looking for:

• Solid life insurance underwriting background with 8+ years’ experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with sales channels.
• University degree in any discipline.
• Good English and Cantonese; fluent Putonghua is an advantage.
• Comfortable with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
