Job summary

The Insurance Authority in Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Senior Manager and Manager in AML/CTF risk assessment, inspections, and regulatory compliance tasks.

You will engage with insurance institutions, analyze data using Excel, and help raise awareness of AML/CTF obligations while delivering timely, accurate outputs.

Qualifications

• A degree or professional qualification in finance, insurance, economics, law, accounting, business or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience in AML/CTF, compliance, enforcement, audit, legal or regulatory field.
• Knowledge of the regulatory requirements in the financial industry is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of functions, pivot tables, and formulas for data analysis, is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to present arguments and analysis confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
• Self-motivated, independent and able to take the initiative to manage and deliver tasks on time
• A good team player
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese

Job description

Reporting to the Senior Manager and Manager, the Assistant Manager will undertake the following:

Key Responsibilities

Participate in conducting money laundering/terrorist financing risk assessment of the insurance sector

Participate in conducting inspection and monitoring insurance institutions’ compliance with relevant anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF) regulatory requirements

Provide support in outreach and capacity-building to promote understanding of insurance institutions of their AML/CTF obligations and money laundering/terrorist financing risks

Perform other duties as assigned by senior management to facilitate the administration and performance of the statutory functions of IA

Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ work experience in AML/CTF, compliance, enforcement, audit, legal or regulatory field.

Knowledge of the regulatory requirements in the financial industry is an advantage

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of functions, pivot tables, and formulas for data analysis, is required. Knowledge in Excel Macros, VBA, or other analysis tools will be considered a plus.
