Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support DEM (Operations) in formulating policies, guidelines and procedures on Charities compliance for governance of Trust-funded projects and Charities operations.
• Assist in due diligence and follow-up on compliance issues related to Trust-funded projects and Charities operations.
• Assist in reviewing and implementing improvement processes to enhance efficiency and governance for Trust-funded projects and Charities operations.
• Carry out relevant research to support proposals for special donation projects.
• Support implementation of strategic initiatives of SPOR and specific donation projects.
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff in the Charities Department.

About the Role

The role supports DEM (Operations) within the Charities and Community Division in strengthening governance and compliance for Trust-funded projects and Charities operations. The Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, project initiation, community engagement, and day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. The Division works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration. The Department focuses on policy and guideline development and compliance matters. The role involves policy formulation, due diligence, process improvement, research, strategic initiatives, and coaching junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Support DEM (Operations) in the formulation of relevant policies, guidelines and procedures on Charities compliance matters with a view to ensuring proper governance for Trust-funded projects and the various aspects of the operations of Charities.
• Assist in conducting due diligence work and following up on specific compliance-related issues, both related to Trust-funded projects and the operations of Charities.
• Assist in reviewing and implementing improvement processes to enhance efficiency and governance related to Trust-funded projects and operations of Charities.
• Assist in carrying out relevant research as required to support the development and formulation of proposals for special donation projects.
• Support the implementation of various strategic initiatives of SPOR and the implementation of specific donation projects.
• Provide coaching, guidance and support to junior members of the Charities Department to facilitate them performing their daily tasks.
• Carry out other duties as directed by management.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
