Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 4–7 years of relevant experience from insurance companies, asset management firms, private equity, private credit, fund-of-funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds or investment consulting firms.
  • Solid understanding of alternative asset classes and institutional investment processes.
  • Experience in investment due diligence, manager selection and/or portfolio monitoring is preferred.
  • Familiarity with fund structures and alternative investment legal documentation would be an advantage.
  • Strong financial analysis and investment assessment capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (Putonghua).

Responsibilities

  • Support the management of the company's existing alternative investment portfolio, including fund investments, co-investments and direct investments.
  • Conduct ongoing post-investment monitoring and portfolio management activities for assigned investment projects.
  • Review investment performance, portfolio developments, capital calls, distributions, valuation updates and risk exposures.
  • Maintain regular communication with external fund managers, General Partners (GPs), advisors and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support portfolio reviews and assist in identifying key investment, operational and market risks.
  • Assist in sourcing, evaluation and execution of new alternative investment opportunities across various strategies and geographies.
  • Conduct manager coverage, strategy research, market analysis and investment opportunity screening.
  • Participate in investment due diligence, including commercial, operational, legal and financial assessments.
  • Support legal documentation review, negotiation and transaction execution processes.
  • Prepare investment papers, due diligence materials and recommendations for internal approval committees.
  • Prepare regular portfolio reports, investment updates and presentations for internal management and committees.
  • Support regulatory filings and reports related to alternative investments.
  • Ensure investment records, documentation and databases are maintained accurately and in accordance with governance requirements.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects and assignments as directed by management.
  • Act as the primary person responsible for designated alternative investment mandates and ensure effective ongoing oversight throughout the investment lifecycle.

As part of its continued portfolio expansion and private markets strategy, the Investment Department is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the Alternative Investments team.

Job Description
Portfolio Management & Post-Investment Monitoring
  • Support the management of the Company's existing alternative investment portfolio, including fund investments, co-investments and direct investments.

  • Ensure investment records, documentation and databases are maintained accurately and in accordance with internal governance requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Undertake ad hoc projects and assignments as directed by management.
  • Act as the primary person responsible for designated alternative investment mandates and ensure effective ongoing oversight and management throughout the investment lifecycle.
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
