Job summary

Ramboll in Hong Kong is seeking a motivated sustainability professional to support green building certification projects and environmental assessments. You will collaborate with architects, engineers and clients to collect data, prepare submissions and verify performance during construction.

The role welcomes fresh graduates and engineers with 1–3 years of experience, requiring strong analytical skills and bilingual communication in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Building Engineering or similar.
  • Fresh graduates welcome; 1–3 years in sustainability is a plus.
  • Knowledge of BEAM Plus, LEED, WELL is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering green building certifications (BEAM Plus, LEED, WELL).
  • Prepare technical submissions, calculations, reports and scorecards.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Conduct sustainability reviews against regulations.
  • Carry out site inspections and verification during construction.
  • Support environmental analyses (carbon, energy, water, waste).
  • Track progress and deadlines with project managers.
  • Participate in client meetings and proposals.
  • Assist business development and ad hoc tasks.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
  • Assist in the delivery of green building certification projects, including BEAM Plus, LEED, WELL and other sustainability assessment schemes.
  • Support the preparation of technical submissions, calculations, reports, scorecards and supporting documents for certification assessments.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to obtain project information and supporting evidence required for certification submissions.
  • Conduct sustainability reviews of architectural and MEP designs against certification and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out site inspections, audits and performance verification activities during construction and certification stages.
  • Assist in environmental and sustainability analyses, including carbon, energy, water, waste and material assessments.
  • Track project progress, certification requirements and submission schedules to support project managers in meeting client deadlines.
  • Participate in client meetings, workshops and presentations.
  • Support business development activities, proposal preparation and other ad hoc assignments as required.
Qualifications

Your starting point for constant growth

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Environmental Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome. Candidates with 1-3 years of relevant experience in sustainability, green building consultancy or building services will also be considered.
  • Strong interest in sustainability, energy efficiency and green building design.
  • Knowledge of BEAM Plus, LEED, WELL or other sustainability certification schemes is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of energy modelling, daylight analysis, embodied carbon assessment or sustainability-related software would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
Skills (Advantageous But Not Essential)
  • BEAM Affiliate, LEED Green Associate, LEED AP, WELL AP or other sustainability-related credentials.
  • Experience using tools such as IES VE, One Click LCA, AutoCAD, Revit, Power BI or other sustainability assessment tools.
