Job summary

The Law Society of Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Director, Practitioners Affairs to contribute to legal and policy developments affecting the profession. The role involves supporting committees, analysing proposals, and preparing reports and submissions for the profession.

You will engage with the Administration, Judiciary and Legislature, conduct research, and assist in seminars and other professional activities, with strong English and Chinese communication skills expected.

Qualifications

• Five years’ post-qualification legal experience.
• Sound knowledge of Hong Kong law and legal practice.
• Understanding of the legislative process and policy formulation.
• Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Act as secretary to specialist committees, sub-committees and working parties.
• Analyse legislative proposals, consultation papers and developments affecting legal practice.
• Undertake legal and policy research and prepare reports, submissions and other materials.
• Liaise with stakeholders including the Administration, Judiciary and Legislature.
• Respond to members’ enquiries concerning legal practice and procedure.
• Support professional initiatives including seminars, circulars and events.
