Job summary

M+ invites a curatorial coordinator to support exhibitions and public programmes focused on design and architecture. You will assist in maintaining object records, contribute to acquisitions, and help develop publications, labels and online content.

You will research topics related to design and architecture, communicate findings to the curatorial team, and work with learning and digital teams as needed, while contributing to museum-wide project development in a global/Asia context.

Qualifications

• recognised university degree in Design, Architecture, Art History or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of experience coordinating, planning and/or implementing exhibitions and public programmes.
• self-starter willing to learn, highly organised and detail-oriented.
• strong research skills with ability to conduct research independently.
• knowledge of 20th/21st century design and architecture, especially in Asia.
• excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese; Mandarin is an advantage.
• candidates with less experience may be considered for Curatorial Assistant.

Responsibilities

• support the curatorial team in events and activities related to museum business and curatorial affairs with a focus on design and architecture
• assist in maintaining records of objects in the museum collection and support acquisitions
• independently research topics related to design and architecture and share findings with the curatorial team
• assist in writing, editing, and producing museum texts including publications, labels, and online content
• collaborate with curatorial areas including visual art, moving image, learning and digital teams when required
• contribute to overall development of M+ and project/programme development across the museum
• perform other duties as assigned by M+
