Job summary

HKIC invites a qualified lawyer to join our team to provide comprehensive legal advisory on business and transactions. You will support governance, corporate structure, policy formulation and regulatory compliance while keeping internal stakeholders informed of legal developments.

You will collaborate with internal departments, external counsel and advisers, maintain our knowledge library and templates, and handle related duties with integrity and professionalism.

Qualifications

• LL.B. or equivalent law degree.
• Admitted to practise law in Hong Kong.
• Minimum 1 year PQE in corporate/M&A/capital markets/asset management/regulatory work.
• Experience in reputable organisations is a plus.
• Solid understanding of the Basic Law of the HKSAR.
• Willing to work outside normal hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on HKIC business, transactions, structuring, drafting, negotiation, implementation and monitoring.
• Advise on operations and governance, including corporate structure, policy formulation and compliance.
• Identify legal issues and propose regulatory solutions to meet HKIC needs.
• Monitor regulatory developments, perform legal research and provide updates and training.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel and professional advisers.
• Develop and maintain HKIC's legal knowledge library and document templates.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Job description

• Provide legal advice and support on all aspects of the HKIC’s business and transactions, including structuring, drafting, negotiation of terms, implementation, and monitoring
• Provide legal advice and support on all aspects of the HKIC’s operations and governance, including corporate structure, business execution, policy formulation, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Identify legal issues, clearly explain them to internal stakeholders, and propose appropriate legal and regulatory solutions to meet the HKIC’s needs
• Monitor regulatory developments, conduct in-depth legal research and analysis, and provide legal updates and training to members of the HKIC
• Work closely with other internal departments, external counsel and professional advisors
• Develop and manage the HKIC’s legal knowledge and experience library, including agreement and document templates
• Perform other assigned duties as required

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent law degree
• Admitted to practise law in Hong Kong
• Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience advising on corporate, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, asset management, finance or regulatory matters
• Work experience in reputable organisations is a plus
• Good understanding of the Basic Law of the HKSAR
• Committed to contributing to the future development of Hong Kong and achieving the HKIC’s objectives

• Solid experience in transactional and advisory legal work and project management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
