Job summary

Manulife is seeking a senior communications leader to head Asia media relations and oversee GHNW corporate communications. The role reports to the Chief Communications Officer, Asia, with a matrix to the Chief Strategy Officer and partners with regional teams and global colleagues.

You will guide executive visibility, manage issues and risks, and ensure locally relevant, proactive communication aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of media experience in financial services or regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of corporate communications in Asia insurance and wealth sectors.
• Proven relationships with regional and international media and ability to secure high-impact coverage.
• Ability to advise senior leaders and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills; translate complex topics into clear messages.

Responsibilities

• Lead Asia-wide media relations aligned with business priorities; build media relationships and secure coverage.
• Prepare senior leaders for media engagements with clear talking points and materials.
• Monitor issues affecting Asia; advise on media responses and coordinate with Legal/Compliance/Risk.
• Oversee governance, agency performance, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead corporate communications for GHNW; collaborate on messaging, calendars and content.
