Job summary

UNS in Hong Kong seeks an Architectural Designer to join our Hong Kong office. You will contribute to design development and detailing on projects spanning cultural, retail, and commercial scales, working within an international, multidisciplinary, design-oriented team.

Fluency in English is required; Cantonese is preferred. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience at a leading design firm and a proactive, mentoring attitude, with a commitment to continual learning.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as an architect or designer at a leading international design firm.
• Strong aesthetic sensibilities and detailing with demonstrated creativity.
• Experience in cultural, large-scale retail, commercial or mixed-use projects.
• Proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Fluent English; Cantonese preferred.

Job description

As an international architectural firm, UNS is active in the broadest fields of architecture. Our project portfolio covers every aspect of architecture, ranging from small to large scale projects, research and theory. We are currently looking for an Architectural Designer to join our Hong Kong office.

Skills:

• 3-5 years or above of experience as an architect or designer at a leading international design firm, with involvement in built projects

• Strong aesthetic sensibilities and design skills, with demonstrated creativity in design development and detailing.

• Proven experience in cultural, large-scale retail, commercial or mixed-use projects.

• Technical problem solver with the ability to work out architectural solutions through innovative thinking (documented through construction and shop drawings/details)

• Extensive experience with façade, architecture, and interior detailing and interfaces

• Excellent knowledge of products, materials and construction methods, especially in Asia

• Experience in writing performance specifications

• Proactive, self-motivated, and team-focused, with a commitment to continual learning and mentoring

• Fluency in written and spoken English; additional fluency in Cantonese is preferred

• Strong proficiency in Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of D5 Render is a plus.
