Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) seeks a Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver banking IT initiatives across users and vendors. You will oversee design, development and support of core applications, manage risks, scope, and change control, and ensure on-time delivery with high quality.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years PM experience in banking, strong IBM mainframe skills, and bilingual English/Chinese communication; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT/CS or related discipline.
• 5+ years of application development with 2+ years PM experience, banking is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of IBM mainframe technologies (z/OS, MVS, COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM).
• Familiar with card schemes, inter-bank networks and payment systems.
• Proficient in Waterfall and Agile Scrum project management.
• Able to work under pressure and coordinate with users and vendors.
• Fluent in English and Chinese; Mandarin is an advantage.
• Leadership and experience in remote development is a plus.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and implement IT projects to ensure the timeliness and quality of deliverables.
• Responsible for system design, development and support of the application systems.
• Manage project processes, documentation, progress reporting, status meeting and escalation effectively.
• Work closely with users and vendors for system requirement analysis, effort estimation, design, development, implementation and testing on banking project.
• Identify dependencies and potential risks across project, take measure to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
• Manage change control in different stages throughout the project life cycle.
• Troubleshoot problems and propose the recommendation to resolve the issue, and liaise with developers on fixing and resolving technical issue.
• Liaison and coordinate effectively with both internal and external parties for system integration design.

Requirements

• Degree or above with major in Information Technology, Computer Science or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of application development experience with 2+ years solid project management experience, with Payment Industrial experience is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge and solid experience in IBM mainframe system - z/OS, MVS, COBOL, VSAM, JCL, CICS.
• Familiar with payment, credit card and unsecured lending products and systems.
• Familiar with the interface or specification of card scheme or inter-bank network.
• Familiar with project management techniques and methods, preferably Waterfall, Agile Scrum.
• Proven track record of designing, running, and managing sizable banking projects is a plus.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, organization, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Able to work independently, under pressure and willing to learn.
• Self-motivated and adaptive to changes.
• Proficiency in both Chinese and English, Mandarin is an advantage.
• Leadership and experience in remote development is a plus.
