Job summary

PERSOL Hong Kong Limited is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Air Freight Operations Excellence to oversee air gateway operations, drive quality compliance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

You will supervise an air freight operations team, drive KPI performance, coordinate with airlines and terminals, and partner with regional teams on digitalization and system enhancements to elevate service quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in air freight forwarding, freight operations, customer service, project management, or related logistics functions with supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Sound knowledge of air documentation and cargo terminal operations.
• Experience handling airline and customs compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process improvement mindset.
• Exposure to quality management systems, operational audits, or continuous improvement initiatives is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with industry certifications such as ISO, GDP, TAPA, or related standards is an advantage.
• IATA Dangerous Goods Awareness Certification would be a plus.
• Good understanding of Hong Kong Customs and air cargo operations.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise an air operations team to ensure efficient and accurate shipment processing.
• Ensure timely handover of shipments and documentation to airlines and cargo terminals.
• Maintain close communication with airlines, terminals, overseas offices, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Investigate operational discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor operational KPIs and service performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
• Drive workflow optimization, process enhancement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Support digitalization and system enhancement projects in partnership with regional and global teams.
• Conduct regular process reviews, audits, and quality assessments to ensure adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience and operational performance.
