Job summary

Richemont is seeking an AI Engineer in Hong Kong to design, build, deploy and continuously improve Generative AI and Predictive AI solutions. You will manage AI applications and IT processes, ensuring reliability, security and scalability in production.

You will lead end-to-end AI projects, translate business needs into technical requirements, and collaborate with product, data and technology teams to drive value and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level in a relevant field.
• Proven hands-on experience designing, developing and deploying AI/ML solutions from experimentation to production.
• Strong expertise in Generative AI and Predictive AI, including LLMs and modern AI development frameworks.

Responsibilities

AI Engineer

YOUR MISSION

As AI Engineer, you will design, build, deploy and continuously improve Generative AI and Predictive AI solutions, turning experimentation into reliable, scalable applications that create real business value.

You will combine hands-on AI engineering with the management, monitoring, and improvement of existing and new AI solutions and IT processes, such as change management, release management, and incident management. We are looking for someone genuinely excited by the rapid evolution of AI, curious about new models and technologies, and eager to experiment, learn and build what comes next.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

• Lead the management, monitoring, and enhancement of AI solutions and IT processes, including change management, release management, and incident management. Ensure production AI applications remain reliable, scalable, secure and effective over time.
• Oversee and deliver comprehensive digital programs and initiatives, utilizing agile and design-thinking methodologies to ensure sustainable implementation. Contribute hands-on across the AI engineering lifecycle, from rapid experimentation and solution design to production deployment, while bringing AI-native ways of working - such as fast iteration, reusable building blocks, automation and continuous evaluation to the wider team.
• Document current ("as is") and future ("to be") processes, detailing the necessary changes to transition to the "to be" state, ensuring accurate recording of required modifications. Identify where AI can meaningfully improve workflows and define how new capabilities should be integrated.
• Gather business requirements through various methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, articulating these requirements in terms of target user roles and objectives. Translate business and user needs into clear technical requirements, solution designs and measurable success criteria for AI applications.
• Develop and execute projects or workstreams within change management initiatives, with guidance from senior colleagues. Support the responsible introduction and adoption of new AI capabilities by working closely with business, product, data and technology stakeholders.

• Plan and manage small projects or workstreams using appropriate project management methodologies to ensure intended outcomes are achieved.

• Design and conduct tests for websites/applications software, and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and resolve performance issues. Define and apply robust evaluation approaches for AI solutions, including output quality, accuracy, safety, latency and reliability, and use findings to drive continuous improvement.
• Implement development plans for new products or services, managing project schedules, identifying risks, and communicating with project stakeholders. Build robust AI solutions and take them from prototype to production, with appropriate versioning, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement practices.

• Administer budgets for specific areas of the organization or perform complex budget analyses to track progress and suggest improvements.

• Conduct detailed cost analyses for significant business segments to identify variances, recommend efficiencies, and enhance profitability. Monitor infrastructure, model and AI service costs, and make pragmatic engineering choices that balance performance, scalability and cost.
• Enhance personal capabilities through participation in assessment and development planning activities, formal and informal training, and coaching; pursue or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and achieve personal potential. Continuously strengthen AI and software engineering capabilities as technologies and practices evolve.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of technology, external regulations, and industry best practices through continuous education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. Actively assess emerging AI models, frameworks and engineering approaches, and apply them when they offer clear business or technical value.

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level, ideally in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI or a related field.
• Proven hands-on experience designing, developing and deploying AI/ML solutions from experimentation to production.
• Strong expertise in Generative AI and Predictive AI, including LLMs, machine learning and modern AI development frameworks.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience in cloud environments, APIs and MLOps practices.
• Naturally curious and hands-on, with a genuine passion for GenAI, emerging technologies and continuous experimentation.
• Strong engineering and problem-solving mindset, with a focus on building reliable, scalable and responsible AI solutions.
• Experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others.
