The role focuses on building scalable backend solutions, with Python or Go, and collaborating across teams to deliver intelligent automation that enhances customer experiences.

Qualifications

About The Role

We're looking for an Agentic Engineer - Backend to design, build, and optimise backend systems that power WATI's next-generation AI Agent products. This role will focus on developing reliable, scalable, and high-performance APIs and services, collaborating closely with product, AI, and frontend teams to deliver intelligent automation solutions that enhance customer experience and business efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and optimise AI Agents, focusing on decision‑making, task scheduling, and multimodal data processing.
• Design system architecture and develop backend services using Python or Go.
• Integrate multiple external APIs and data sources for intelligent automation.
• Continuously improve system performance, usability, and scalability based on real‑world feedback.
• Work closely with product, design, and business teams to translate ideas into scalable solutions and deliver them quickly

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related field, with 3-5 years of development experience.
• Hands-on experience (1,000+ hours) with LLMOps platforms such as Dify, Coze, n8n, LangChain, etc.
• Full-stack or backend development background with strong coding practices.
• Solid understanding of AI agent frameworks and related technologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience in agent system or automation framework development is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience building AI Agent applications from scratch (0-1)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS).
• Background in intelligent customer service, conversational systems, or voice bots.
• Fluent English communication; leadership or management experience is a plus.
