About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team at Lo & Lawyers. This is a full-time position based in Admiralty, Central and Western District. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial integrity of the firm by managing day-to-day accounting operations, processing transactions, and providing essential support to the accounting department. The Accounting Clerk position is fundamental to ensuring our financial records are accurate, organised, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
What You've Be Doing
- Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense claims in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
- Maintaining and updating accounting records and ledgers, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly documented
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation
- Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies or unusual transactions
- Preparing financial documents and reports as required by management and regulatory bodies
- Filing and organising financial documents in a systematic and secure manner
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Liaising with internal departments and external parties to resolve accounting queries and discrepancies
- Assisting with general administrative tasks related to the accounting function
What We're Looking For
- GCSE/O-Level qualifications in Mathematics and English, or equivalent professional qualification
- Relevant accounting qualifications such as AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Level 2 or 3, or NVQ in Accounting, or willingness to pursue such qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages
- Strong numerical aptitude and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Experience with VAT, PAYE, or payroll administration is desirable
- Previous experience as an Accounting Clerk, Accounts Assistant, or in a similar accounting role is preferred
