Job summary

WilliamSELECT seeks an Accountant to manage full-set accounting across South Asian markets, ensuring IFRS and local GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Qualified CPA, ACCA, CPAA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' accounting experience in multinationals or multi-market environments.
• Experience with IFRS and local GAAP is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with SAP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-set accounting operations (AR, AP, GL, fixed assets).
• Lead month-end closing, journal entries and reconciliations for South Asian entities.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
• Deliver timely monthly financial reports and disclosures to regional leadership.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors for direct and indirect taxes.
• Liaise with external auditors during audits and statutory reporting.
• Support internal control improvements and system initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Oversee full-set accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and Fixed Assets management.
• Month-End Closing & Reporting: Lead month-end closing activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations for South Asian entities, strictly adhering to IFRS and local GAAP standards.
• Balance Sheet Integrity: Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations and proactively resolve outstanding items to ensure clean and accurate financial records each month.
• Financial Reporting & Disclosure: Deliver timely, highly precise month-end financial reports and disclosures to regional leadership.
• Tax Compliance: Collaborate closely with external tax advisors and outsourced accounting service providers to manage direct and indirect tax filings across South Asian markets.
• Audit & Statutory Compliance: Act as the key liaison for external auditors regarding annual audits, statutory financial reporting, and localized compliance requirements.
• Process Improvement & Projects: Assist management with internal controls, system implementation initiatives, workflow enhancements, and special ad-hoc projects.

Requirements:

• Education & Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Qualified CPA, ACCA, CPAA, or equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of solid, relevant accounting experience. Experience within MNCs, retail sectors, or multi-market Asian entity closing is highly advantageous.
• Technical & Tax Expertise: Solid grasp of local tax filings and statutory reporting across Asian jurisdictions is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Excel; hands-on experience with SAP systems is a distinct advantage.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
• Key Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, highly organized, self-motivated, with high attention to detail and precision.
