Job summary
A leading automotive parts distributor is seeking a Warehouse Operative to ensure orders are accurately picked and packed for delivery. This role requires a strong track record in a fast-paced warehouse environment, attention to detail, and an understanding of customer service. The position operates on a casual contract, covering absences and holidays during weekdays and alternate Saturdays.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is essential.
- Capable of working efficiently with good attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Responsibilities
- Check and put away delivered parts.
- Pick and load vans accurately and timely.
- Check customer returns for resale or warranty.
- Ensure stock quantities match computer records.
Skills
At GSF Car Parts, our Warehouse Operatives play an important role within the team by always ensuring orders are picked and packed, and ready to be delivered to our customers. They are champions of customer service delivery through efficient coordination of warehouse stock and understand the importance of delivery timeframes. As a Warehouse Operative working on a zero hour / casual contact, you will support the branch in covering any holidays or absences.
- Checking and putting away supplier delivered parts
- Picking and loading vans accurately and in a timely manner;
- Checking customer returns for resale, warranty or surcharge;
- Checking stock quantities are correct against computer whilst also checking stock is stored in the allocated bin locations.
Working hours: Up to (average) hours Monday to Friday, including alternate Saturday working - depending on the cover needed in the branch.
What you'll need to succeed:
- A great track record working in a fast paced warehouse, or similar environment
- Ability to work well under pressure
- A good team player
- Work efficiently with good attention to detail
- Understand the necessity of customer service & working to deadlines
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of car parts and the automotive industry would be desirable
