A day in the life.

As a Senior Platform Engineer on the Data Platform National Team, you will design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure that supports our data operations. You will play a key role in enabling our data teams to deliver insights efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable Azure infrastructure using Terraform. Ensure that the architecture supports our evolving data processing needs.
2. CI/CD Implementation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration to improve deployment speed and reliability.
3. Monitoring and Maintenance: Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance and health. Proactively address and troubleshoot infrastructure issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
4. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with data engineers and analysts to understand their infrastructure needs. Provide technical support and guidance to ensure optimal deployment and functioning of data applications and tools.
5. Best Practices and Innovation: Keep up-to-date with industry best practices in DevOps and cloud infrastructure. Recommend and implement improvements to our infrastructure management processes.
6. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure setups, configurations, and procedures to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, with a proven track record of deploying and managing Azure cloud environments.
2. Solid understanding of DevOps practices including automated testing, deployment, and orchestration.
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

1. Certifications in Azure are highly desirable.
2. Knowledge of data engineering and big data technologies is advantageous.
3. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise in Azure services and management, particularly Azure data services
• Proficient in IaC tools, particularly Terraform.
• Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and practices.
