Overview:

Location: Lookers Vauxhall Ellesmere Port

Salary: up to £47,600 OTE (including a basic up to £39,000, plus additional £2,000 for EV qualification and bonus) overachievement bonus available!

Hours: 42; Monday-Friday: 8:30am - 5:00pm plus alternate Saturdays: 8:00am-12:00pm

Our Service team at Vauxhall Ellesmere Port is recruiting for a Senior or Diagnostic Technician to join their workshop. You will carry out mechanical and electrical diagnosis to manufacturer guidelines, liaising with the Master Technician for guidance on complex issues.

This role offers the chance to learn from an experienced team, work on prestigious vehicles, and benefit from ongoing support, training, including manufacturer accredited schemes and Hybrid & Electric training for career progression.

Responsibilities:

1. Carrying out mechanical and electrical diagnosis using brand-specific diagnostic machines to manufacturer guidelines.
2. Collaborating with the Master Technician for guidance on complex issues.
3. Working closely with the manufacturer's technical team when needed.
4. Advising customers or manufacturers on further work required.
5. Road testing vehicles with customers to identify faults.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Motor industry experience (brand or non-brand).
• A full and valid UK driving licence.

Previous experience as a Senior or Diagnostic Technician is required. The candidate should be self-motivated, supportive of the team, ambitious, eager to learn, and committed to high standards.

Salary banding:

• £30,000 for NVQ level 3 qualified Technician with no brand experience.
• £32,000 for a qualified Technician with over 12 months brand experience.
• £34,000 for a Senior/Diagnostic Technician.
• £39,000 for an accredited Master Technician.
