Candidates will contribute to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on-call rota covering the diverse area of North Yorkshire on a 1:7 basis.

Research opportunities are encouraged.

Candidates must have full GMC Registration and sufficient experience in the specialty to work independently in clinic and theatre. A familiarity with issues of service organisation and development would be particularly advantageous. Applications from speciality trainees within 6 months of CCT are welcomed.

• Work independently in clinic and theatre for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
• Cover the on-call rota for North Yorkshire on a 1:7 basis
• Participate in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
• Supervise StRs/specialist trainees where appropriate
• Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team with ENT, Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Audiology
• Engage in research activities and contribute to MDT meetings

• Hold a medical qualification registered with the GMC
• Hold a licence to practise with the General Medical Council
• Entry on the relevant GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date within 6 months of interview) or CESR
• MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
• Fellowship in a sub‑specialty
• Substantive NHS experience
• Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
• Experience of supervising StRs/specialist trainees
• Ability to demonstrate clinical experience and skill in all areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
